Our organization was formally founded in 1979 in Columbus, Georgia under the name 'Chattahoochee Cycling Club'.
The organization has since become a not-for-profit organization, recognized over the last 20+ years for raising money
for charitable organizations, raising awareness of cycling, organizing touring and racing events, and
developing new riders.
The club was renamed by referendum the 'Columbus Cycling Club' in October, 2003 to associate our name
with our geographic area. The CCC was established to promote bicycle riding and safety,
and public awareness by fostering relationships between cyclists and motorists.
As anyone who cycles can tell you - bicycling is not just a hobby ... it will change your life!
The Columbus Cycling Club is for people interested in bicycling (road and mountain),
trail maintenance, shaping the community, and creating new friendships.
